Planting a church is full of all kinds of surprises.
Sometimes I am surprised at what no longer impresses me or what I am not pursuing as we are beginning Journey. Coming from a youth ministry background, I like things that are edgy, cool, different… That’s just my personality. But nothing can take the place a group of people who begin to jointly understand their place in God’s story – even if the room is not full of candles and edgy art work. There is nothing more exciting than when faith and actions, lives and words, begin to line up around the heart of God… when the size of the gathering is not the issue but responding to the heart of God is priority… when people begin to see how important it is to step into their faith and watch what God can do in the lives of those around them… Last night was great – mostly because I witnessed a group of people take steps to influence their own community for the greater good of the kingdom! Last night rocked!
